So today Cohen had another therapist come in (she works with the social and emotional aspect)and video taped us playing together. Needless to say, it wasn't very successful. He has a few repetitive behaviors that he was more interested in doing than actually PLAYING with the toys. He doesn't play with them "properly". He isn't interested in them. He found 1 toy and just basically sat there with it. She got down on the ground with him as well and tried to engage him, and he would play with her, but only 1 activity. He didn't want to do anything else. Didn't show curiosity and not a whole lot of emotion. Then she had me fill out a form with a whole bunch of Does Your Child Do This type stuff. Does he talk: No. Does he take you to show you what he wants: Sometimes. Basically stuff like that and I had to do a never, some time, half of the time, most of the time, or all of the time. He had a few most of the time which gave me hope, but when it got to the 18-36 month aspect of it I pretty much marked never in all of them because it all delt with talking and playing with others. He has just now started to interact more with Anessa and Peyton. He still won't interact with other kids.
The other night, when we were outside, our neighbors kids were outside as well and do you think Cohen showed any interest in playing with them? Nope. He just went over to their sandbox and played by himself. So this now leads us to the Developmental Physician. She is going to call me today and give me the number so that we can get his final diagnosis. At least, this way, we are getting him the help he needs and we will now know what we can do to help him.

I know the developmental survey very well! Makynna gets one every 6 months. We actually get one in September. Some of the questions are things that I don't really pay attention to because they are lame. I hope everything id going well
