This is awesome!

So I have loved Weezer since Junior High, and they have come out with a new album! The two songs I've heard so far are really good. This is their video: Pork and Beans; I'm a huge fan of the guy with the nunchucks!

38 week appointment..

Nothing much has changed. I'm a 3 and 50% effaced. However, she says she doesn't think I will make it to my next appointment. Heh...We will see about that one.

Still here..Still intact..

Well, I'm still a person of two right now. How do I feel about this you might ask? Well, let's just say, I'm very, very onry. It's a dang good thing that I've kept myself busy for the last day and a half or I would be taking a sledge hammer to the walls. Why? Oh because I was in labor for 1 1/2 days and it continues. I will contract for 2-3 hours and they are consistent, painful, and annoying...then they stop. WHY?!?!? Just come already! Anyway, that is all I really feel like posting on the subject. I've got a better, happier post that I will be working on later. Look forward to that!

The longest labor EVER...

So yesterday, while at my parent's house, we were all sitting there around 2:30 eating lunch. I had been feeling pretty crampy all day, but nothing that I hadn't been dealing with for awhile now. Then, it felt light a freight train hit me and I had the worst pain on my right side. I kind grimaced through it figuring it was round-ligament pain, which I have delt with before as well. Usually when this happens it goes away in about 10 minutes. Well, this time it didn't. Instead it started some pretty regular contractions that weren't very comfortable. I was a little frustrated as we were at my parent's house in Salt Lake and it's an 1 1/2 drive home. So I called my doula and asked her what she thought and she said she thought that maybe I was in the early stages of labor and to time them and see if we get a pattern going. So I went and laid down in my parent's room to settle in a watch a movie. Mitch, my dad and me time them for a bit and found they were 4 minutes apart.

I laid in bed for about 45 minutes and in that time I had strong contractions and contractions that were..meh. So Mitch and I were trying to figure out what to do with the kids, do we leave them down there or do we go home? Who knows? So, we decided to go for a walk. While walking I had a TON of strong contractions that were quite painful. We got home, and I figured I would take a bath to see if they go away all together or if they stayed. If they stayed then we would know I was in labor as I can usually get them to stop by taking a warm bath. They didn't stop, but they did get a bit further apart and not as strong.

I felt bad because the kids were looking forward to going fishing with their cousins, so we opted to let them ride the pony that my parent's friends are letting them borrow. They had so much fun, I will have to post the pictures later. However, walking back and forth from the house to the barn started up the contractions again. My dad made ribs, pork chops, grilled pineapple, and I made some broccoli and cut up bread. I decided to eat a good, hearty meal so that I would have my energy for what was coming. During dinner, my contractions were getting stronger so Mitch and I opted to head home after dinner was done. He had packed earlier so we just threw stuff in the car and took off around 8:30. By this time I had been contracting for going on 5 1/2 hours. I was super tired at this point. During the car ride home they got stronger and were 4 minutes apart. Once we hit Logan though they slowed down a bit so I decided to try to get some sleep. I could feel myself contracting while I was sleeping, but nothing hard enough to make me wake up. Around 1 though, I started feeling sick and I couldn't go back to sleep for awhile. I finally relaxed my body enough to sleep, but could feel the contractions still going.

This is the part that is getting me down. They have CONSISTENTLY stayed four minutes apart and they have BARELY gotten stronger. I'm not in a very good mood at all. So all in all I have been in labor for almost 24 hours. I will let you imagine all the expletives that are running through my head right now. Update later.

Update

Well we just got back from the doctors. I feel a lot better than I did last week that is for sure. I guess all that bouncing did DO something. I'm now dilated to a very "wiggly" 2 cm, baby is at a +2 station, and I am 50% effaced. YAY! Hopefully here in the next week or so we will have a new baby in our house. I've actually lost 4 pounds in the last week. I'm not that hungry anymore so I don't eat too much. Just cereal. I also chase after the kids a lot so I'm sure that has contributed some to my weight loss.

I'm getting very nervous for this whole event. We have hired a Doula (birth attendant) who will come once I start with labor and support Mitch and me through the whole thing. She has really been awesome! She has taught Mitch a lot of different massages that he can do, positions to help with the pressure and about how to help me keep calm and focus through the whole thing. I guess my apprehension is getting apparent because I talked Mitch's ear off last night. He was so tired that I let him go to sleep, but I cried silently because I'm getting scared. It's a day of pain is what I keep trying to tell myself. It will be a lot better than when I had the epidural too. I've just read a lot of my friends birth stories lately and they all describe how bad it hurts. I know the more I tense up the worse it will be, but I can't help but be tense right now. I'm just hoping that when it all happens that the stuff we have practiced will work out. So that is where we stand. Cross your fingers, say a prayer for a safe, healthy delivery!!

37 Week Appointment..

Today is my 37 week appointment. I'm hoping maybe SOMETHING has changed a bit. I didn't get to post yesterday because, why, Oh yah, thought I was in labor...again. I spent half the day bouncing on my birth ball hoping to move things along..alas..It was not to be..again. 20 more days until my official due date. It's been so hot lately and I have gotten so swollen. I'm to the point where nothing fits. I wear my pajamas all day long for the sheer fact that, that is all that will fit over my belly and all that is comfy these days. I will update more after my appointment, it's at 4:30 today.

Go Anessa!!

Anessa got some roller skates for Christmas, and it just got warm enough for her to try them out! I had to hold her for the first little bit because she was a bit freaked out, but she soon got the hang of it. She's already wanting to do hills and stuff, but I told her she needs to start at Step 1 which is...Learning how to make yourself go instead of relying on the wind! LOL! She loves trying new things even though it takes a bit of prodding. She fell a few times and got a sore bum, but I don't think that will stop her from getting the hang of this!

Houston, we have walls!

FINALLY. The sheet rock is all put up, mud, taped and textured! I'm so excited I can hardly stand it! It looks so different down there with all the walls up. This weekend my mom and dad are coming up and he and Mitch are going to hang trim. Then Mitch and I will just have to paint; then it will be time to get the carpet in! So in about 2 weeks we should have a totally finished basement! It will be so nice for the kids to have a place where they can jump around and go nuts without bringing down the house. Also, I will have my own office where I can get away to work in peace. It has been so hard trying to work while Mitch takes care of the kids because they want to wrestle and play, and here I am trying to listen to a doctor through headphones and can't hear a dang thing he says!

The boys room is so big! It's almost as big as our family room. It will be nice for them as they get a bit older though too. They can each have their own space if they want. Plus with the two older boys there are toys laying all over the place. It seems that we can never keep the place clean. Now we have a place to store all of their stuff.

Anessa and the baby will each have their own room since they are so far apart. I think it will work out best that way, even though Anessa has been wanting to share a room with the baby. I have to keep reminding her that babies cry in the night and she would never get any sleep! Once we get everything done I will post pictures, but I'm pleased to announce that we have walls. It's a big step for us!

My 36 week appointment.

So I had my first "violation" check today. Man, I so thought I would be a lot further along than I am. I'm only a "small 2" and "very thick". I normally wouldn't care, but I'm in so much pain that I left the office with tears in my eyes. I have such horrible vericose veins and sciatic pain that I can hardly walk. It makes it really frustrating because I can't do the things that I want to do because it hurts too bad! Mitch is just fine, that means he has longer to finish the basement. Not that I'm complaining, but MAN...I HURT! So, don't expect any action from me this week.

Also, a side note, the hospital I will be delivering at has visiting hours? So from 12-2 and 6-8 I guess you can visit me? Oh yea, and my kids can only stay for 30 minutes at a time since they are under 14?? Boy, I really want to hang all by myself with a brand new baby because Mitch had to go home to take care of our 3 under 14 children.

You can say it, I'm complaining too much. I already know. The end.

The Month of May (so far)

The month of May has been a very busy one for our family. Not only did Cohen turn 2 this month, but Mitch graduated with his Master of Accountancy all while finishing up the basement. I couldn't be more proud of my husband. He has worked really hard to get where he is today. He did all this while working full time, finishing up the basement, getting the yard in, and dealing with a huge, onry, pregnant wife!

So here is Cohen! I love the look on his face. He really likes cake and couldn't wait to dig in!

And here is me...I'm thinking that the baby has dropped, significantly!!

I have prodromal labor all. the. time. I will have contractions, but they just last a few hours then go away. I guess it's okay. I still have 3 weeks left. I'm just so tired, not that it will get any better once the baby gets here, but at least, then, I can move normally without dealing with sciatic and vericose vein pain!

Jealousy

I'm so jealous at night when I see Mitch sleeping soundly and I'm up from 3-5:30 a.m. every. single. night. I lay in bed thinking of things that I need to get done, people, and ways to help out my family. Then I think of really funny things (some would think it lame) that my friend Anna and I talk about on a regular basis. I then lay in bed trying to relax my body into sleeping and it just doesn't work. It's not until I've gotten up about half a dozen times and checked everyone twice, gotten a drink, stretched that I lay back in bed and finally doze off. This is usually at 5:30. Mitch's alarm goes off at 6:30. His morning ritual is to cuddle with me when he wakes up. Not that I don't love him cuddling with me, it's just that, well, I just got to sleep an hour ago!! It's a losing battle.
